STRUCTURE-PROPERTY RELATIONSHIPS OF TEXTILE FIBER


The basic chemical and morphological structure of polymers during a fiber determines the basic properties of a fabric made up of that fiber. Although physical and chemical treatments and changes in yarn and fabric formation parameters will alter the fabric properties to some extent, the fundamental properties of the fabric result from physical and chemical properties inherent to the structure of the polymer creating up the fiber.
